ABOUT WINTON SCHOOL
Principal's Welcome,
Nau mai, haere mai and welcome to our website.
Established in 1870, Winton School is a forward thinking and dynamic learning community catering for students from Years 1 to 8. We have 13 classrooms, 35 full and part-time staff and a current roll of 295 amazing students.
Our talented and dedicated team of teachers and support staff work with a progressive Board, active PTA and supportive local community to ensure all students are able to work and play in a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment.
We offer a wide range of academic, social, cultural and physical opportunities for learners of all ages to grow, develop and shine. Learning is supported and enhanced by the integration of digital technologies such as iPads, laptops, desktops and personal devices in modern learning environments.
Work and play is guided by 'The Winton Way' and our school values - Respect (whakaute), Effort (manawanuitanga), Responsibility (takohanga) and Empathy (pūaroha).
As an Inquiry school, we continually flex our Learner Muscles (Researcher, Self Manager, Thinker, Collaborator and Communicator) as students question, wonder and inquire about the world around them.
You can find out more about our vision, values, learner muscles and The Winton Way by clicking on 'The Winton Way' in the menu bar.
Enjoy looking through our website.
